Maheen Kaleem, JD


Maheen earned her law degree from Georgetown University in May 2013. She possesses a strong background and much experience working with at-risk youth, a passion for community-based strategies and an innate understanding of social justice issues. As a Public Interest Fellow at Georgetown Law, she received both academic and service awards among other accomplishments. Maheen's work with youth includes organizing, counseling and legal representation. She has also helped develop a case and outcome tracking database for a juvenile defense office, documented the effects of school push-out, and organized and supervised volunteers. Maheen has drafted protocols and training materials for defense attorneys about the needs of court-involved youth and has represented minors in delinquency matters as part of her year-long involvement with Georgetown’s Juvenile Justice Law clinic.
