Abigail Gray, PhD


Abigail Gray currently works at the Consortium for Policy Research in Education at the University of Pennsylvania. A seasoned mixed-methods researcher, Abigail has extensive experience partnering with schools and designing and implementing rigorous education research.

Abigail currently leads multiple large, federally funded research projects in collaboration with the School District of Philadelphia. These include a multiyear randomized-controlled trial of a literacy curriculum funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences, and a study of climate and discipline funded by the National Institute of Justice of the U.S. Department of Justice. Previously, she worked as a middle-school teacher and school leader in the School District of Philadelphia, where she gained experience overseeing process-improvement projects. She is a certified reviewer of group-design studies for the U.S. Department of Education's What Works Clearinghouse.

Abigail holds a BA from the University of Notre Dame, a MA in Education from Chestnut Hill College, and a PhD in education policy from the University of Pennsylvania.
